Coach Maverick Doherty has been fencing since she was 11 years old under the guidance of Michael D’Asaro Jr. She was the youngest A-rated fencer in the country at 12 years old.

Now, she is a ten-time national and international medalist, having represented the United States at World Cups since she was 14, and having won three national gold medals.

Currently Maverick works at South Bay Fencing Academy as an instructor and works for the USFA as a Sabre and Epee referee.

Her commitment to the sport makes her a great inspiration to all new fencers and her passion for working with the students makes her a great addition to our coaching staff.
